FRIGATE 'HMS COVENTRY' made a return to the Merseyside at the weekend - not the Birkenhead-built destroyer of the same name, but a frigate.
It now bears the name 'Coventry' and is among ten warships of the Standing Naval Force Atlantic Group on a goodwill visit to this area.
Cammell Laird's 'HMS Coventry' was sunk in the Falklands War and its battle flag is proudly on display aboard the frigate, the sixth warship to bear the name.
