A MERSEYSIDE police officer appeared before Wirral magistrates on a rape charge.

PC Roy Fraiser McGregor, aged 29, from Wallasey, was remanded on conditional bail for four weeks for committal proceedings. It is alleged he raped a 27-year-old woman at Wallasey in July.
