A SUB Post Office assistant faced Wirral magistrates charged with theft amounting to £135,887.
Summary trial was declined for 49-year-old Angela Edwards, of Netherton Road, Moreton, and she was bailed for eight weeks for committal proceedings.
She is charged with six offences of theft of money belonging to Post Office Counters Limited over a two-year period while she was working at Saughall Bridge Post Office, Saughall Massie.
It is the biggest case of its kind to come before a Wirral court.
Tony Nelson, defending, said it was obviously a matter for the higher court. He indicated not guilty pleas.
