THIRD Dan Richard Saunders, Wirral TAGB Taekwondo instructor, is celebrating after winning the Scottish Championship in Cumbernauld, Glasgow.
The two times English Champion and European silver medallist said: "This was my hardest competition as it consisted of three weight divisions. I had to beat the world flyweight champion Joseph Schembri in the final. He has not lost in a while, so I was pleased with my performance."
Not to be outdone was 11-year-old Amy Truesdale and her sister, nine-year-old Chloe, who both won silver medals at the Scottish Championships and the recent British Taekwondo Council Championships in the junior girls' sparring division.
Both are members of Richard Saunders Schools of Taekwondo and 14-year-old black belt David Cottis, of Saughall, picked up a bronze medal at the Scottish Championships.
