MARCHING up and down the prom with a rucksack may not seem like good practice for the Himalayas but Brian Clowes is hoping that the exercise will stand him in good stead.
Brian, from Wallasey, has also been climbing Mount Snowdon as part of his training for the charity trek across the Asian mountain range.
He hopes to raise £2,000 for SENSE, the national deaf, blind and Rubella charity in the Anapurna Challenge. He and 24 others will be trekking with Sherpas across the Anapurna range, climbing up to 12,000 feet.
Said Brian: "I have been looking forward to the trip for ages. It is something I have wanted to do for many years and it is a very worthwhile cause."
Anyone who would like to sponsor Brian can call him on 630-4650.
