MEN'S Captain of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team in the 12th World Transplant Games in Budapest was David Lindsay, from Wallasey, who had a kidney transplant 20 year ago.

Aged 47, David won five Gold and one Silver medal in the Veterans' age group in the 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 50m team medley and 50m freestyle.

David, who made the trip on a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship, was part of a 78-strong team which came top in the medals table.
