GARDENERS in Wirral are being urged to help the Merseyside Branch of the British Red Cross expand its Open Garden Scheme throughout Merseyside.
A trial scheme in Southport this year attracted hundreds of visitors, who were inspired by seeing the work of other amateur enthusiasts.
Now the group would like to hear from garden owners willing to open their gardens to the public. The scheme provides each garden owner with a volunteer garden co-ordinator who will arrange everything from collecting money at the gate to serving teas.
If you would like to take part, contact Mary Sheridan at the Merseyside Branch on 709-7799.
