NESTON women and girls, community groups and individuals with disabilities are set to benefit from a grant of £210,000 by the National Lottery Charities Board to Ellesmere Port and Neston Council for Voluntary Services, which is also to receive a further £105,000 from the Single Regeneration Budget. It will fund a new project called the Ellesmere Port and Neston Community Transport Organisation (CTO). "It will make an enormous difference to many people," said Mandy Platt, Research Development Officer. "We will be a unique provider of not-for-profit mini-bus and car travel, offering our services to community groups, women and individuals with disabilities. Our service will provide essential travel to meet local people's needs, which would otherwise remain unmet."
