LUXURY builder Morris Homes has bought the land on the site of the old Leas School, off Meols Drive, Hoylake, subject of a controversial planning application earlier this year. Although plans for the six acre site, to be known as 'The Park' and overlooking the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, have not been unveiled, Mike Gaskell, managing director of Morris Homes, has promised "a small and extremely exclusive development which will be unique and unrivalled anywhere in the North West." The remainder of the land will be bought by the golf club and retained as green belt land. Mr Gaskell said that he could not yet announce details of the development but promised "a departure from the norm".

The development will be known as 'The Park'. Said Mr Gaskell: "We plan to make The Park a flagship for Morris Homes and to use this highly sought after site as an opportunity to take the region's luxury new homes market to new heights."
