Faye can see 'stars in her eyes' again!

WIRRAL star Faye Dempsey is set to taste fame again in TV's Stars In Their Eyes Champion of Champions show - and a Heswall gym has been helping her to prepare for her latest step into the big time.

Faye was just 15 when she wowed TV viewers in the popular sound-alike show in 1997. West Kirby Grammar School A-level student Faye, as Olivia Newton-John, sang Hopelessly Devoted To You.

During the live final, even Faye's fellow competitors supported her by singing along to her song.

Now, as the 11th series of the show is about to start, Faye has been invited back to star in the Champion of Champions show. Granada TV are describing the programme as the "ultimate" show.

To illustrate how good Faye is, an average of 30,000 people currently send tapes in for each series. Of these, 1,000 are invited to audition, 200 are invited to a second audition, from which just 60 hopefuls are selected.

A date for the show is yet to be finalised, but it is planned for next month.

Faye has already been filmed working out for the show at the Physical gym in Heswall - perhaps giving a clue as to which of Olivia Newton-John's hits Faye will be singing?
