FIVE students at South Wirral High School, Eastham, have gained the Duke of Edinbugh Gold Award.

They are Liam Ashcroft, aged 19, of Eastham, now an apprentice at British Aerospace, where he has been nominated as Apprentice of the Year; Gavin Ashcroft, now a senior salesman at the Next store in Richmond, Surrey; Alan Mountford, 19, of Eastham, who is taking a year out before going to university; Jane-Marie Arthur, 19, of Bromborough, now a classroom assistant at Rock Ferry High School; and Fiona Wilson, 20, of Eastham, who is currently recovering from a serious leg injury. All five students completed their Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards at South Wirral High School.
