MY wife and I travelled from Hamilton Square to West Kirby. Platform 3 at Hamilton Square station was filthy - it had obviously not been swept for some time and grime was embedded into the platform.
A fist-sized wad of paper was wedged between two of the automatic fire doors. Worst of all, the metal security top to one of the fitted waste bins had been broken off and the bin was half full of rubbish.
To add to the attraction, the train was more than 30 minutes late.
