WIRRAL Bus and Tram Show wound up the classic car and vehicle season at Pacific Road Museum, near Woodside.

It was hosted by Hamilton Quarter. Next event in the Pacific is a beer festival from October 28-30.

Heavy rain at the Bus and Tram show didn't dampen spirits however. Wirral's Eddie Doig was there with his newly refurbished fish and chip Bedford van. There were rides on vintage trams while Steve Piercy was a singer in rain in his concours winning 1967 Singer Vogue Estate.

Steve, who runs a car restoration business in Wirral, said how he would lioke to see more women mechanics and thought this would be welcomed by women motorists.

Veteran motorist Bert Taberner, from Greasby, has just helped to restore the old town clock in Hoylake and was in his trusted and well travelled Morris.

Chester Vintage Enthusiast Secretary Martin Hughes brought along his Bentley saloon and had the New Year's Day club run and Millennium Rally for 2000 on his mind.

At Oulton Park the motor racing season also wound down with an Autumn spectacular last weekend in which open sports and racing cars battled against each other and the elements.
