From Mrs Joyce Reece:-
WHILE my husband and I were away on holiday, my son accidentally left the front door of our house on the Poulton Lancelyn Estate, Spital, partly open.
In the early hours of the morning, the milkman discovered the door ajar, notified the police and kept an eye on the house until they arrived. They did within 10 minutes and upon checking the house, found our son, who works long hours, fast asleep in his bedroom.
But for a watchful and helpful milkman and the fast response of the police, our house could have been burgled. We are very grateful to them both and, as the police are so often criticised these days, we think your readers should hear when they give such sterling service.
