ST JOSEPH'S really had their colours removed in the Wirral FA Premier Cup second round, as Wallasey and District Sunday League club Great Float Social handed out a 5-0 thrashing. Kevin Pink scored four of the goals and substitute Jon Sanderson bagged the fifth in a superb team effort.

A goal apiece from Andy Jones and Steve Cooper in each half gave Poulton Royal a 2-0 success over The Queens, while Millhouse came from 0-2 down to beat Rock Ferry Abbey 3-2, thanks to John Skeggs, Darren Murphy and Paul Hughes.

Old Bank shortchanged Foxfields EPCC with a 5-2 victory that saw Richard White and Duncan van Marle each score two and Mike Pickles the other.

Three of the league's teams progressed in round three of the Wirral FA Junior Cup. Boot Inn (Sean Cassidy, 2, Mark Stevenson) beat Manville 3-2; Stanleys Cask (Martin Wilde, 2, Kevin Rea) defeated Ashville Youth 3-1 and Black Horse (Stuart Marl, Phil McGhee, Paul Sharrocks and an own goal) knocked out Vicky Lodge 4-2. Rose and Crown and Old Market were both eliminated.

The only game in Division Two saw Brackenwood claim their first point of the campaign, following a 3-3 draw with Seaview (Craig Kavanagh, Craig Pleavin and Jimmy Shaw), thanks to goals from John Hibell, Sam Hanratty and Chris Debabaru.

In Division One, The Saddle went top as they beat The Plough 2-1, with goals from John Mooney and Jamie Faulkner. Morton Arms (Dave White) suffered their first reversal with a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Pilot Boat.

Parkfield stay third after beating La Banque (Stuart Andrews, Barry Clarke and Adam Rogan), as Brian Cousins, 2, Carl Williams, Matt Keeley, Paul Reay and Steve Upton found the net.

Goals by Nick Kennedy and Graham Brook helped Atlantis Gym beat Kings Arms 2-1 and Windsor edged out Poulton Vics Social (Mark Kee, Paul Robinson) 3-2.
