HOYLAKE and West Kirby Sailing Clubs combined to stage a special programme to mark the centenary of the West Kirby Marine Lake on Sunday.
Dinghies were joined by tidal classes for special lake races and an overall event. There was some excellent competition in a moderate to fresh South East wind.
Operas edged the verdict overall.

Falcons: Millennium (T. Corlett).
Larks: Prudence (S. Chatten).
GPs: Misdemeanours (S. Stratton).
Fireflies: Gemini Man (A. Jenkins).
Lasers: Diminishing Returns (D. Potter).
Overall: 1, Country Girl; 2, Silvana (G. Melling); 3, Diminishing Returns; 4, Misdemeanours; 5, Prudence.
Liverpool Yacht Club races went to Skysmoke (Stan Edge), Bare Necessity (Dave Unthank) and Starship (A. Smith).
