BRITISH Transport Police admit that the death of a 17-year-old boy on a Wirral railway line is still a mystery.
Matthew Emmerson's body was found on the line between Green Lane and Rock Ferry shortly after 6.30am on Saturday, September 16. Police have interviewed more than 200 witnesses but have yet to establish why Matthew died.
They are anxious to trace a man who spoke to rail staff at Rock Ferry shortly after the body was discovered. He is described as white, five feet nine inches, aged mid to late 20s with dark collar length hair and possibly a Scottish accent. If you any information, call police on 702-2076.
