WHAT a sad, horrible and pathetic attitude shown in Geoff Morris' letter about 'Euro Loons'.

I have grandparents who fought in both world wars and we remember all of the people who died in the war on November 11 each year. That does not mean we despise the Germans, Italians, Japanese or even the French.

I don't think there are any members of any foreign government suggesting they should go to war with Britain at the moment. They don't despise us, they mostly quite like us.

We are now part of a global economy and the sooner some of these small-minded Little Englander people on the Wirral accept the fact the better.

We don't have to automatically dislike or distrust people just because they are from a different country, speak a different language or may even have a different skin colour.

Having a common European currency is not going to lead to us losing our sovereignty. The pound is only a bit of metal or a bit of paper. Please just let the politicians get on with it so we can concentrate on more important issues like poverty, famine and unemployment, and bring an end to them.

Mr G.G. O'Neill, Kirkway, Greasby.
