MORE than 950 letters of appreciation were sent to the staff of Wirral Hospital in May, while only 45 letters of complaint were received.
The letters, from former patients, their families and their carers, thanked staff for their kindness during treatment, while others expressed gratitude to the staff who supported the families of loved ones during their stay at the hospital.
Paul Holt, Director of Operations and Chief Nurse, estimates that, on May's figures, the staff must receive some 12,000 letters a year.
