I WRITE regarding misleading public transport information. Following the withdrawal of the 64A bus, passengers on this route have been slightly appeased by Arriva's decision to reinstate a partial service on the route on an hourly basis during off-peak periods.

What passengers between the A41 New Chester Road and the old terminals of Shorefields, New Ferry, have not realised is that this 'new' service will only run from Woodside to Boundary Road, New Ferry, thereby ignoring the requirements of a large number of prospective passengers who live beyond Boundary Road whose only bus service remains half hourly.

Many of these passengers are elderly and infirm and use the service for local shopping etc. While being able to time the ongoing service, it can be a problem timing the return journey, resulting in waiting periods of up to 25 minutes. Problems also arise with the timing of 'connecting' buses from Boundary Road, which is already served by several other bus routes. I do wonder how residents in Boundary Road will react to having a bus terminal on their doorsteps?

Arriva state they can only afford one bus an hour from Woodside to Boundary Road. I contend the route would serve more passengers if it ran from Birkenhead Bus Station to Shorefields rather than Woodside to Boundary Road.

I hope that anyone in agreement will contact our local MP, Ben Chapman, or Arriva North West, 73 Ormskirk Road, Liverpool.
