YOU may or may not know that Brock plc have applied for planning permission to extract clay from the Carr Lane Brickworks, Moreton.

I have been chosen from a list of hundreds, not by Tom Champagne, of Readers Digest fame, but by our obviously diminutive planning department at Wirral Borough Council as one of those unique addresses that fall into the 'too close for comfort zone'.

I would suggest that interested parties click onto wirral.gov.uk/webtables/20016483. This website contains an application by Brock plc to the planning department.

This application includes what looks like an old drawing ( I am an engineer) and to be honest if this is an indication of how Brock intends to proceed then heaven help us if their application is approved.

The application on the website is poorly put together and just happens not to include those minor details like CDM regulations, Health and safety (pre-tender) details, traffic in Moreton, including sporadic bursts of 20 tonne traffic through Moreton Cross, noise, pedestrian safety, etc.

I am quite concerned that if the planning committee do approve this application then the residents of Moreton will suffer another blow.

I live right at the edge of the site on the other side of Carr Lane and I have already spoken to the planning officer regarding my personal concerns. Perhaps others could do the same.
