PATIENTS and staff at Wirral Hospital are benefiting from three of a kind - a trio of laboratory machines which are becoming the unsung heroes of health care.
The Trust is one of the first in the country to acquire a 'family' of Olympus analysers which operate round the clock carrying out tests for medical staff.
They can measure up to 50 different substances in blood and urine and help in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Tony Tarpey, chief biomedical scientist, says: "By investing in state-of-the-art equipment we are able to offer a fast and reliable service to both the Hospital and GPs."
