CHEQUES for more than £14,500 have been donated to each of Wirral's Rotary, Lions and Round Table Clubs.

The cash bonanza comes thanks to the incredible efforts of the annual Wirral Show.

Ken Hurst, President of Wallasey Lions, and Graham Jones of the Round Table, were present to accept cheques from Wirral Show chairman Alan Robinson, pictured left.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral, Cllr John and Pauline Cocker, were also present at the ceremony to celebrate another successful show.

And a show spokesman told Globe the good news does not end there. There is still money coming in and the total does not include the funds raised by the 60 charities at the show.

Last year the Rotary Club of Wallasey was able to support 20 charities with the money it received through the show, including the YMCA, Pet Aid Society, Royal School for the Blind, Wallasey Victim Support and Claire House children's hospice.
