OLDERSHAW went down 14-17 at home to Northwich in a close South Lancashire/Cheshire One League clash.
Steve Myerhoff gained the only try and Willy Gardner a brace of penalties and a drop goal.
Anselmians secured a 23-13 victory at home to Crewe and Nantwich in Division Two. Dave Latimer, Gareth Williams and Ed Spencer gained tries. Williams added a penalty and a conversion and there was also a penalty for Neil Turner.
Wallasey fell 15-20 at Moore.
In Division Three, Hoylake went under 15-18 at Orrell Anvils. Andy Cotgrave and Jamie Courtney breached the Anvils defence and Mike Young managed a penalty and a conversion.
Parkonians lost 0-20 at home to Oswestry and Prenton fell 10-18 at Collegiate. Peter Collins gained a try and Paul Lee converted and kicked a penalty.
Port Sunlight finished 43-12 to the good against Vulcan. Simon Byrne went in twice and there were also touch downs for Ross Lewis, Carl Taylor, Paul Sutton, Chris Lister and Adam Metcalfe. Colin Leach converted four times.
On Saturday, Oldershaw travel to Vagabonds, Wallasey entertain Anselmians, Wirral visit Trentham, Hoylake are hosts to Sefton, Port Sunlight make the short trip to Capenhurst and Prenton host Parkonians.
