AROUND 20 jobs could be created when homecare manufacturers Lever Faberge build a £1million extension next to their factory in Port Sunlight.
The single-storey extension will accommodate an enlarged, improved and innovative bottle-blowing and packaging facility for fabric washing liquids. The factory will be under construction for approximately six months and will be fully operational by the end of the year.
When opened, the new plant will increase production of fabric washing liquids in Port Sunlight for European markets and, it is hoped, around 20 jobs will be created by ALPLA, the marketing company managing the operation.
Welcoming the announcement, Wirral South MP Ben Chapman said: "Lever Faberge is a highly successful world-renowned company. I am delighted they are continuing to expand their operation Port Sunlight and, in doing so, benefiting the local economy.
"This latest development is tangible evidence of assurances I have received from Lever Faberge regarding the company's commitment to this long-established site."
The site received a top Japanese Industry award for Manufacturing excellence.
