THANKS again to the Globe for covering the opposition to Tunnels Tolls (Globe, April 6).
You reported that a Merseytravel spokesman said that they stopped our protest because we were going to hang a banner from the bridge railings. This would have been a bit difficult for us as we did not have a banner! All we had was a board which was being fixed to the side of my van, when the Tunnels Police ordered me off the bridge.
We are waiting to hear from Merseyside Police whether the Tunnels Police do have authority over the bridges.
Now that a General Election has been called, we will be contacting the candidates to establish their views on Tunnels Tolls. We will be urging people not to vote for any candidates who support the tolls.
