A Wirral school club has received the Ofsted seal of approval after making a difference to the lives of many local families.
The CATS club, based at Cathcart Street Primary School in Birkenhead, has a breakfast and after school club as well as opening during the school holidays for up to 30 children aged between four and eleven years.
The club was originally set up in 1998 to provide childcare for parents of pupils at Cathcart Street and St Laurence's, who were starting new courses and jobs.
But CATS has now become popular with parents of children at different schools in Birkenhead and many who work in the town also drop their children off for the holiday club.
Ofsted's recently released report states: "Children are offered a good range of stimulating activities and opportunities there allow them to make good progress in all areas of development.
"Staff give lots of praise and encouragement to which children respond with good behaviour."
