Wirral Badminton League report by David Spencer

THE one remaining divisional title to be resolved was settled in style when Wexford recorded an 8-0 win over St Andrew's (Meols) to take the Division Two South honours, overtaking leaders Rock Ferry in the last match of the season.

The Tranmere side deserved their success with an unbeaten run that stretched back to the very first game of the season, when they lost their opening match.

The only promotion or relegation issue still to be settled is the runner-up spot in Division Three South, where The Oval need a point to overtake Peninsula, and will have to complete their unfinished match against Barnston to determine second place. The two sides met this week in the return fixture, but the 4-4 draw only clouded the issue.
