DIVISION Three champions Delta are the new holders of the Birkenhead & Wirral Football League Joe Shields Cup after their 4-1 triumph over Admiral in Friday night's final at The Oval, Old Chester, Road, Bebington (writes Alan Ravenscroft).

Scott Dowell and Mike Docherty found the net in a lively first-half in which Sam Horner pulled a goal back to Admiral.

In the second-half, Owen Hassel made it 3-1 before Docherty, with a penalty, netted his second goal of the match. The 'man of the match' award went to Delta's Owen Hassel.

In the Truman Cup Final, also played at The Oval, Division Two champions Bird-in-Hand beat Kelma 2-0, thanks to first-half goals by Paul Hawkins and Robbie Black.

'Man-of-the-match' was Bird in Hand central defender Carl Williams.

On Saturday, two headers by Dave Rollins put AC Brookley on their way to a 5-0 Division One success against TDS Automotive. Terry Orange (penalty), Dave Huntington and Tom Lawrenceson also netted.

Division two leaders Bird-in-Hand beat Trafalgar Rangers 4-1 with goals by captain Mark Howells (penalty), Robbie Black - his 33rd goal of the season - Steven Murphy and Paul Hawkins. Paul Batty headed Trafalgar's consolation.
