POWERGEN League North Division One champions Morley had a warm welcome at the Upper Park on Saturday as Birkenhead fought valiantly before losing 26-29.
Park were leading 26-22 deep in injury time, but with the last move of the game Morley hooker Leon Treco burst through to snatch victory.
Birkenhead's scorers were Steve Clarke (try) and Alex Davies, who scored a drop goal and six penalties, the last four opening up a 26-22 lead as the game entered injury time.
