Mostyn House School in Parkgate has a proud history of target shooting going back over a hundred years, so when Alex Williams from the Phoenix Shooters Association heard that they were in need of a specialist air rifle to allow the pupils to take part in competitions, he organised a collection from the members of Phoenix.

The rifle is specially designed by BSA with special target sights and a short stock to allow smaller pupils to use it. For the technically minded, it's a BSA .177 pre-charged pneumatic rifle in carbine form, with aperture sights, an adjustable stock and charged by a separate pump.

The rifle was presented to Suzi Grenfell, Headmistress of Mostyn House School by Alex Williams from Phoenix Shooters Association who said "We’ve heard all about your school’s success so far and we wanted to help you to get even better, so we’ve all chipped in to buy this rifle for you."

Suzi Grenfell, receiving the rifle on behalf of the school said, “We are delighted to accept this rifle from Phoenix. This will increase the ability of the school to compete nationally - last year we entered the Preparatory School Rifle Association national championships at the National Shooting Centre at Bisley, where the team won the air rifle championship.
