A WOMAN motorist stopped by the police admitted to having drank three large glasses of wine and said: "I’m over the limit. I know I am”, Wirral Magistrates were told by prosecutor Lionel Cope.

Susan Stansfield, 50, of Glenmore Road, Birkenhead, later provided a test which showed more than double the permitted alcohol level.

Stansfield pleaded guilty to the drink-driving charge.

Police stopped her because she drove away from the Caernarvon Castle pub without lights and later displayed a fog light when the visibility was excellent.

Tessa Hinder, defending, said Stansfield was embarrassed by her court appearance.

She was suffering severe problems at home and reacted wrongly. She knew she should not have driven.

Magistrates imposed a £240 fine plus £80 costs. Stansfield was banned from driving for 17 months.

A TEENAGER who broke a curfew order was fined £50 by Wirral Magistrates.

Craig David Roberts, 18, of Greenwood Road, Woodchurch, admitted failing to comply with the order imposed for offences which included taking a vehicle without consent.

Roberts failed to provide reasonable explanations for over ten hours of violation of the curfew.

A BIRKENHEAD man became extremely aggressive as he threatened door staff outside a town centre club and was later arrested after a struggle, Wirral Magistrates heard.

Daniel Edward Woolfall, 28, of Church Mews, Birkenhead, admitted being drunk and disorderly.

Tessa Hinder, defending, said Woolfall had drunk far too much alcohol.

He had an altercation with doormen at Sherlock's night club and was ejected from the premises.

He felt he had been assaulted by the doormen and later took out his anger on police who attended.

Woolfall was fined £65 plus £80 costs.

TWO teenagers were bailed until October 15 for trial by Wirral Magistrates.

Christopher Coupe, aged 18, of Castleway North, Leasowe, denies common assault, and Zac Sonny Gates, also 18, of Baffin Close, Leasowe, denies causing damage to a window.

Coupe also faces the damage allegation.

JOHN Edwin Dodd, 25, of Henthorne Street, Birkenhead, and Dominique Crebbin,20, of Claughton Place, Birkenhead, were remanded on bail for seven days by Wirral Magistrates.

They are charged with burglary and theft and the prosecution are asking for the matter go to the Crown Court.

The case was put off because Crebbin was unfit to appear in court. Dodd was present.

A MOTORIST stopped due to the manner of her driving later provided a blood test which showed she was just over the legal alcohol limit.

Chanine Crofts, 25, of Ganneys Meadow Road, Woodchurch, appeared before Wirral Magistrates and pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

She was fined £100 plus £80 costs and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

She was offered a special course which, if completed, will cut the ban by a quarter.

ANDREW Paul Mallion, 24, of Grosvenor Road, Wallasey, pleaded not guilty when he faced Wirral Magistrates charged with using an insurance document with intent to deceive and also failing to surrender a cancelled certificate.

He was bailed until October 1 for evidence to be called.

A MAN used a credit card belonging to his grandfather, with whom he was staying, to obtain cash, Wirral Magistrates were told.

When questioned, Darren Thomas, 26, of Hornby Street, Birkenhead, said he knew he would be found out but he could not help himself, prosecutor Lionel Cope told the bench.

Thomas, who obtained some cash while on holiday in Greece admitted theft of an HSBC credit card and also two matters of making false representations to obtain a total of £2,510.

Tessa Hinder, defending, said Thomas got involved with drink and drugs after losing his job and took money from his grandfather’s account to fund his behaviour.

He was thoroughly ashamed and knew the breach of trust aggravated the situation.

Thomas was bailed to a new date for a probation report and the magistrates kept all sentencing options open.
