An ongoing scheme to replace old cast-iron water pipes in Moreton will mean Chadwick Street will be closed to all through traffic from Monday, August 17, for two weeks.
United Utilities, which is carrying out the works, says access to Chadwick Street for businesses in this area will be maintained as much as possible, but it is expected that there will be some disruption.
Parking restrictions will be put in place where necessary to allow the work to continue, but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Brian Jenkins, United Utilities’ project engineer, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause and thank residents and businesses in advance for their patience and understanding."
He said the work is designed to improve water quality in the area and reduce the risk of leakage on the network.
