I whole-heartedly agree with the writer of last week’s letter (Street football should be banned).

I bought my home in an idyllic cul-de-sac in West Kirby within three minutes’ walk of Ashton Park, the beach and the Wirral Way.

The house which backs on to us is occupied by an unapproachable “Daddy” whose son spends hours and hours every day out of school banging a football against the concrete, the fence and the wall of the house.

It starts early and continues until it is dark.

He is in his own garden so there is little anyone can do. We all pray for rain at the weekends. The noise is horrendous. The children further down the lane kick the football against the metal door of the garage when they are home from school having passed the park on their way.

The couple a few doors away must know that when they are out all day at work that their dog barks non-stop until they come home at night.

When we all develop mental health problems will we be able to sue the council via Health and Safety ?
