AN E-FIT police image has been released of a double rapist who assaulted two young women in his car.

Police are hunting the attacker who struck in Wirral and Liverpool on two occasions two years apart.

The last attack was on December 27, 2006, at around 1am.

A nineteen-year-old woman left the Myrtle Pub in Old Bidston Road and got into a silver car which she thought was a taxi.

Rather than taking the woman to her home address, the driver took her to a secluded spot and raped her.

The woman managed to escape and raise the alarm, she left her right shoe in the vehicle.

The first incident was in October 2004, in Tuebrook, Liverpool, where a nineteen-year-old was raped after she again got into a silver car after being involved in a fight outside the pub.

Once in the car the driver said he would take her to a police station to report the incident, instead he took her to a remote area of Queens Dock, raped her and then took her back to her home address after the attack.

The offender is described as white and in his mid-thirtees. At the time he had short-dark hair, was clean shaven and had a large build.

Forensic tests show the same man raped both women.

Merseyside Police have released an e-fit of a man they would like to trace which was drawn up in connection to the first incident in 2004.

Both victims described the car to be silver, the first victim said it was a sports type Honda, with a grey dashboard, CD player and a strong smell of leather.

DS Colin Leeman said: “This was a complex review and innovative profiling was used to establish the link between these two incidents and identify any DNA opportunities.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the e-fit or is aware of the offences.

“Women should be routinely vigilant to the dangers and make efforts to ensure they are not vulnerable to attack.

“We appeal to anyone who can assist us with this investigation to contact 777 8659, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
