A charity helping people with motor neurone disease is urging our readers to help raise funds by signing up for this year's Wirral Coastal Walk.

The walk is to take place on Sunday June 16 and Wirral Motor Neurone Disease Association needs your support.

Debbie Williams, the group's chairperson, said: "We can supply MNDA t-shirts for those walking for our cause and they can get the £5 entry fee refunded as a thank you for getting sponsorship for their trek.

"While the overall walk is 12 and a half miles long people can just do four or eight miles - stopping at one of the two control points - if they prefer and every step they take will help us raise much needed funds.

“While researchers are undoubtedly getting closer to finding a cure for this awful terminal disease they still need funding and cash is also needed to help care for those living with this illness.

The walk starts from the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton and finishes at Wirral Country Park with intermediate finishes at Leasowe Common and Kings Gap Hoylake.

Interested walkers should e-mail mndawirralwalk@outlook.com to let the Group know that they will be fundraising for MNDA Wirral and they will be sent further information.

Debbie Williams continued: "We’d also be grateful if people can recruit family, friends, colleagues, etc. to join us or to help you raise funds and share the link to our Just Giving page Wirral MNDA Coastal Walk 2024.”
