MEET our dog of the week Shadow, who is looking for a forever home.

The seven-year-old Weimaraner, currently being looked after at Dogs Trust Merseyside, is described as 'a stunning boy' who was a little nervous when he first arrived at the charity's rehoming centre, but is now said to be 'growing in confidence and loves spending time with his carers'.

Shadow has found himself without a home due to a change in his owner’s circumstances and he’s more than ready to settle in with a new family.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Now he has settled in Shadow loves having a fuss made of him from his handlers and enjoys exploring the grounds, but we have learnt that he does like to take his time to get to know a new environment so his family will need to let him settle in at his own pace.

"But given how he is now, we don’t think that will take long."

Shadow is described as happy to meet other dogs but hasn’t got great social skills so he doesn’t know what to do when he is ready to say hello so his new owners will need to help him with this and the team at Dogs Trust Merseyside can provide advice.

He is best as the only dog in the home but could live with teenagers. He is happy to be left home alone after a nice walk and company, but he’ll always be happy to see his family on their return.
