MEET our dog of the week, Olly, who needs your help to find a new home.

The one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier has found himself at Dogs Trust Merseyside after a change in his family’s circumstances meant they could no longer care for him.

This much-loved boy is now looking for a forever home and he would happily live with children of high school age, but to help him settle in and find his paws quickly, he’d like to be the only pet.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Olly is a gorgeous, gentle boy.

"He has been with us around four weeks and we are surprised he hasn’t been snapped up as he’s lovely. We’re hoping it won’t be too long before someone realises they have an Olly shaped hole in their lives and welcome into their home".

Olly is understood to dislike being left home alone so h like his new owners to be around to keep him company and he has found the move to the rehoming centre a little overwhelming, so he has preferred to give himself a bit of time to get to know everyone.

However, now he’s settling in, he likes a fuss and is relaxing more and more. The team are confident that Olly will grow in confidence as soon as he knows he’s in his forever home.
