A WIRRAL artist is mastering his craft creating lifelike paintings from memorable photographs.

William Wallace, who lives in Rock Ferry, has always been interested in art having started painting at a young age.

He says he’s still learning but his paintings – which are produced using quick drying oil paints – are stunning recreations of original photographs.

William, who is 64, has perfectly recreated the picture on canvas and also done a painting of Tag enjoying playing on the beach.

William said: “I paint from photographs and use quick drying oil paints.

“Each painting takes around 15 hours from start to finish, particularly if I’m doing a dog.

“Most paintings are 12inches by 10inches and I really enjoy the challenge as well as the end result.

“The reaction I get from people, when I show them their painting, is wonderful.

“They’re generally shocked at the true likeness of their pets.

“I love showing them the end result.”

He added: “Painting is a hobby and I’m still learning.”
