MEET our dog of the week, Luna, who is looking for a forever home.

The two-year-old Retriever (Labrador) Cross arrived at Dogs Trust Merseyside six weeks ago after being picked up as a stray.

Described by staff at the rehoming centre as 'quite a timid girl at times', she is friendly and confident with people she knows but it may take her a little while to settle into a new home and routine.

She doesn't like spending time alone, so will need a family who is willing to spend time building up her confidence and helping her to adjust to being by herself.

Luna is said to love playing and will bring a ball back time after time after time. She'll need to be the only dog in the home whilst her family work on building her confidence and finding some appropriate friends for her.

Georgina Lowery, rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Lovely Luna is a whole lotta dog in a small package.

"Sadly, as a shy little lady, she's not coping so well in kennels so we are keen to find her a forever home as quickly as possible.

"Once she knows you, though, she is friendly and confident. She’s a very active girl who loves her toys, and enjoys a good game of fetch.

"We're confident she’ll make a great addition to a family willing to spend the time she needs to settle into her new home."
