A NEW series featuring The Hairy Bikers will air tomorrow (Tuesday, February 26) and will see the pair visit a Wirral fishmonger in one of the episodes.

This seven-part series, The Hairy Bikers Go West, on BBC Two will see the boys reunite to travel down the west coast of the UK.

Each week Dave and Si will base themselves in stunning locations while exploring the changing areas through restaurants, recipes, and inventive new food entrepreneurs.

The episodes, which started on February 6, saw their journey begin on the west coast of Scotland and journey through Lancashire. The pair will continue to Merseyside, North Wales, Bristol, and finally Devon and Dorset.

Along the way, they discover a host of inspiring local producers doing their bit to celebrate an area’s rich diversity, learn about the future of food production, and track down a new generation of young farmers driven by sustainability.

When will Wirral be featured?

Dave Myers and Si King’s next stop on their epic 600-mile trip through 10 glorious counties is Merseyside where the pair will visit locations in Wirral and Liverpool.

Episode four will see the Bikers explore Merseyside and pay a visit to West Kirby.

After dropping in at a forward-thinking farm, the duo visit a Chinese institution, San’s Café at Liverpool’s docks, before stopping off at Chris’s Chippy.

They also visit West Kirby-born Guy, who is the owner of The Seafood Shack in West Kirby. It's the freshly caught scallops, and the smaller and sweeter queenie in particular, that really grabs their attention, so it’s back to base to create a feast with the wonderful flavours.

Along the way, they cook dishes including a traditional egg foo yung, with the meat from the farm adding a porky twist. Plus, they create their own take on Chris’ tasty salt and pepper chips.

The Globe reported back in September when the pair were spotted filming at the West Kirby fishmonger.

The Merseyside episode, where the bikers visit Wirral, will air tomorrow Tuesday, February 27 on BBC Two at 7pm.
