CULINARY arts and hospitality students from Wirral Met College had a chance to showcase their skills and professionalism during a two-day 'take over' of a hotel.

Their work at the Devonshire Fell Hotel in Burnsall, Yorkshire, aimed to provide students with hands-on industry experience and was hailed a success by both the hosting hotel and its customers.

Under the guidance of hotel staff, the students took on various roles, including table service, kitchen duties and bar service.

Prior to the take-over students participated in an exciting cook-off competition held at Wirral Met to determine the menus on offer. The competition was overseen and judged by representatives from Devonshire Fell Hotel.

In addition to their takeover of the Devonshire Fell Hotel, Wirral Met College students regularly hone their skills through practical experience at the college's Met at the Square restaurant.

Open to the public every Thursday evening, this culinary showcase provides students with further opportunities to refine their culinary techniques, showcase their creativity, and deliver exceptional service to members of the public.
