MEET Fran, our dog of the week needs a forever home after being found as a stray.

The three-year-old Foxhound is currently being cared for by the team at Dogs Trust Merseyside, who have found her to be a 'gentle, quiet, affectionate girl' and described her as fantastic.

Fran is said to love the company of other dogs and is much more confident when alongside a four-legged friend. The team would love her new home to have a canine companion for her.

She can also live with children of high school age and staff are confident she’d easily fit into family life.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "To say she was found as a stray, it doesn't seem to have affected Fran's approach to life.

"She is happy to say hello to everyone she meets and is very polite.

"She loves her food which will be a fantastic way for her new family to build a bond, but also do reward-based training with her which she will thoroughly enjoy as she likes to be busy and is really inquisitive."

Fran recently headed to the beach with staff and other dogs from Dogs Trust Merseyside and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

The team is now hoping that fantastic new adventures are just around the corner for her with her new family.
