A BRAND new cat café is opening in Wirral next month.

Last month, the Globe reported that Jackson’s Animal Rescue was opening Wirral’s first rescue cat café to try and educate people "on the constant problem of breeding and selling cats".

Steph Oliver, who set up Jackson’s Animal Rescue in 2015, said the café, which will be located on Market Street in Hoylake, would run events, quizzes and more.

The café will be filled with rescue cats and offer a place of sanctuary and relaxation.

Now, the opening date has been confirmed for Monday, March 11.

In a post on social media, the rescue said: “The team have been absolutely smashing it, and we are now at the point of being able to take advance bookings for the rescue Cat Café.

“It would make all the hard work, 16-hour days, lack of sleep, and exhaustion so worth it if we sold out.”

You can currently make bookings up to the end of March, with the opening being “very gradual with reduced capacity”.

This is so the cats can “get used to their guests”.

A general booking can be made for public opening hours or quiet hours. A one-hour booking is £8 per person and a three-hour booking is £15 per person.

There is also an opportunity to book a space at the cat and board games night for £10 per person or a cat-themed quiz night, also for £10 per person.
