OUR dog of the week, Indie, is looking for a loving family who will help build her confidence so she can enjoy everything the world has to offer in her new home.

The one-year-old Caucasian Shepherd, currently a resident at Dogs Trust Merseyside, is described by staff as 'a super sweet, clever, loving and playful girl' who could 'happily live with children of secondary school age and the more love she receives from her new family, the more her confidence will grow'.

Georgina Lowery, manager at the charity's Huyton-based rehoming centre, said: "Indie is gorgeous and lovely to be around.

"She is a little cautious when she first meets new people, but we are really surprised she is still with us after arriving at the centre last year as she will be a great addition to a family.

"She just needs to be given a little time to find her paws and we really hope she will meet her special someone soon."

Indie is said to love meeting up with other dogs when out and about, but would prefer not to share her home with one so she can lap up all the love.

Indie also responds brilliantly to positive reward-based training and the team have been using this to help her get used to everything from going upstairs to getting into a car.

Dogs Trust Merseyside say seeing Indie progress is wonderful and they now want to see her develop a bond with a new family who will love seeing her progress as much as they have done.

Indie is housetrained but prefers not to be left home alone, so would like her new family to be able to keep her company.
