When and why did you take up photography?

I’ve always enjoyed taking photos while out walking my dog, Ollie, but I didn’t do anything with the images. So, during Covid lockdowns, I decided to start my Instagram page - @walkswithmydogwirral – and this combines my walking with my interest in local history.

What do you love about taking pictures?

I enjoy capturing some of the beautiful countryside in Wirral and showing off all the hidden history.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?

I love everywhere in Wirral but I’ve got Dibbinsdale Nature Reserve on my doorstep, which is lovely all year round.

What is your favourite subject matter and why?

I like walking through areas such as parks or old public footpaths and then researching the history of that area. There so much to learn!

What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?

It’s great to see the work of other photographers and take inspiration from them. It’s such a fantastic group of people.

If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?

I’d love to be able to go into the really hidden areas of Wirral or maybe those without public access, such as the Tranmere Tunnels or the grounds of places like Thornton Manor. That would be quite an experience and great to photograph.
