IF you are an active family who like to be on the go and would love a four-legged friend to be by your side, then our dog of the week Kaiser could be the one for you.

The 18-month-old Patterdale Terrier Cross, currently being looked after by the team at Dogs Trust Merseyside, is described as 'a real sweetheart who loves to have human company, especially if that involves joining them on an adventure'.

Said to be a confident boy, he does react to other dogs so although he can live with children of secondary school age, the rehoming charity recommends he is walked by adults and his new family will need to continue with his loose lead walking training.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Kaiser arrived at the centre via the dog warden in October last year, so we don’t have any history on him, but he has certainly made an impression on us since arriving.

"He is a lovely boy, typical of his breed so he is looking for a family who are happy to keep him active physically and mentally.

"If they do, they will have a very rewarding, loyal companion. He loves his toys and treats, and especially loves to chase a ball, so there will never be a dull day with Kaiser around."

Kaiser will suit a family where he is the only pet in the home.

This lovely boy has been waiting for three months to find a home of his own.

If you think you could give Kaiser the home he deserves, please go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/merseyside to find out about him and other dogs in need of forever homes this new year.
