CAN you help our dog of the week Kiwi find the forever home she is looking for?

The four-year-old Boxer Cross, currently a resident at Dogs Trust Merseyside, is described as 'a big bundle of fun who is hoping 2024 will be a much happier year for her than 2023'.

Kiwi arrived at the rehoming centre via the dog warden so the team don’t have her history but although they may not know her past, they know what she wants in the future – to be at the heart of a loving home with owners who will help her become the best she can be.

She can live with children aged 16 and over but needs help curbing her enthusiasm as she obviously hasn’t had any training in the past so needs to learn the basics, such as how to show someone she is happy to see them without jumping up.

Georgina Lowery, Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Kiwi is a gorgeous girl, very silly, loving and playful but she has been neglected in the past so since she came to us we’ve been doing lots of work with her and she is picking things up really quickly and enjoying learning new things too.

"She is good with other dogs but again needs help understanding how to be polite around them rather than overwhelming them, but she would like calm walking companions when she’s settled in her new home. She loves toys too.

"With the right family, Kiwi will make a wonderful addition to the family."
