A FORMER Wirral student returned to his school to inform pupils about a career in aerospace.

The career fair event, which took place at St Mary’s Catholic College in Wallasey, is designed to inform students about the opportunities available to them and provide a platform where they can connect with educators and organisations.

School alumnus and Airbus employee, Callum McDowell returned to his former school to tell students about his journey and experiences.

After completing his A-levels at St Mary’s in 2019, Callum progressed to university to pursue an engineering degree apprenticeship, graduating in 2022. He now works in Broughton as part of the Airbus team.

Headteacher, Kevin Maddocks, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in our 2023 careers fair. It was wonderful to see our students so engaged with the employers, organisations and educators who kindly took time out of their busy schedules to inform our students.

“We are also thrilled that we had the chance to reunite with former student, Callum McDowell, who now works at Airbus. It’s truly inspiring to witness our alumni thrive following the completion of their time at St Mary’s.”
