AS Wirral residents headed to the polls to elect a new batch of councillors yesterday, there was only one big story of the day - dogs at polling stations.
There were lots of furry friends spotted across polling stations in Wirral yesterday as many went to cast their vote on who they wanted to see represent their ward.
The adorable trend has become a popular craze on Twitter over recent years with many using the #dogsatpollingstations hashtag to share their voting companions.
Every time there's an election the hashtag #dogsatpollingstations goes viral, and it’s commonplace to snap a photo of your pooch in front of a polling station sign.
Here are our favourite pooches sent in from Globe readers.
Wirral Council also joined in on the hashtag by sharing their favourite snaps of dogs on Twitter.
We'll be going live with #LocalElections2022 results as soon as they start coming in. Until then, let's all take a moment to enjoy these pictures of good #DogsAtPollingStations from around Wirral today...
